Summertime in Hood River 2013

Columbia River Columbia River[/caption] Here is some of our [Cameron & Emily Curtis] favorite things-to-do in  Hood River, Oregon! Get your coffee fix at one of Hood River’s coffee shops: sit outside on Doppio‘s patio, grab a bagel and coffee at Hood River Bagel, enjoy Stumptown coffee at Dog River Coffee or a gluten-free treat at Ground Coffee.  The options for the day seem endless: wine tasting, beer tasting, driving the Fruitloop, picking lavender, tour a glass blowing gallery, hike, horseback riding, enjoying a restaurant or shopping. [caption id="attachment_327" align="alignright" width="150"]SUP Race at the waterfront park SUP Race at the waterfront park[/caption] We often choose to take a walk downtown or enjoy a walk down by Riverfront park or jog-up the stairs to the Heights.  For an adventure rent a SUP (Stand-up paddle) board or kayak and head out to the Columbia River, as well as paddle up The Hood River.   Another favorite activity is teeing up at Indian Creek or at the Hood River golf course.  No matter what we do during the day end up at 6th Street Bistro for dinner! If it’s Thursday everyone stops at the Gorge Grown farmer’s market at the Hood River Middle School.  There are wonderful smells, sites, sounds of laughter and yummy food at the market.  Enjoy a slice of epicurean heaven from Solstice’s Mobile Woodfire Pizza.
